Slip Resistance

Slip resistance is one of the most important considerations in flooring specification. Caesarstone Porcelain flooring options are tested using the dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF), one of the most current and relevant industry standards for evaluating slip resistance.

Because slips occur while a person is in motion, DCOF testing measures friction dynamically rather than at rest. The standard evaluates performance in both wet and dry conditions, helping inform installation guidance across residential and commercial spaces, as well as interior and exterior environments. With product recommendations based on full DCOF results, Caesarstone Porcelain offers flooring solutions designed to support a wide range of project requirements.

Caesarstone Safe-Grip Technology: Enhanced Nonslip Properties for Floors

For additional assurance of DCOF and safety of flooring installations, Caesarstone Safe-Grip is available. Safe-Grip is a special-order, slip-resistant finish to enhance the grip texture of select porcelain flooring options.

Developed for higher-traffic spaces, wet areas, and certain outdoor applications, Safe-Grip enhances underfoot traction while maintaining the design integrity of the surface.

Safe-Grip achieves DCOF >.42, resulting in R9 and R10 slip resistance ratings required for many installation scenarios.
